The solid, sturdy plugs of the GPN 606 series now belong to the KAPSTO range of standard parts offered by Pöppelmann GmbH & Co. KG Kunststoffwerk – Werkzeugbau, Lohne/Germany. These plugs serve as a temporary means of sealing and protecting through holes – either boreholes or threaded holes – and are produced from a highly elastic silicone readily capable of withstanding temperatures of up to approx. 250 °C. These GPN 606 plugs are thus suitable as masking plugs both for spray and dip painting processes and for galvanizing applications, their main purpose being to prevent the ingress of foreign matter. In all cases of application, their high elasticity ensures an absolutely firm fit and hence reliable sealing and protection.
The GPN 606 sealing plugs can be easily fitted and removed by means of the projecting tab. They fit so tightly that not even extreme mechanical handling can dislodge them. When fitted, they project a certain distance and are therefore clearly visible and cannot be overlooked when the time comes for them to be removed. The plugs are available ex stock in 9 sizes for standard and fine threads from 6 to 22 mm and for borehole diameters from 5 to 19 mm. Other sizes are also available on request.
Constantly undergoing further development and improvement and manufactured in Pöppelmann's own production facilities, the standard KAPSTO range comprises more than 3,000 different plastic protective plugs and caps for immediate ex stock delivery. Special versions, e.g. plugs combining sealing and assembling functions, can be designed and developed by Pöppelmann's own team of application engineers exactly in accordance with customer requirements.
