Reliable sealing and protection of connector sockets and elongated holes
One of the latest additions to the KAPSTO standard range of plastic caps and plugs from Pöppelmann GmbH & Co.KG, Kunststoffwerk-Werkzeugbau, Lohne/Germany, are the GPN 360 Contact Protection Plugs, designed for the sealing of elongated holes and connector sockets. The protective plugs prevent ingress of contaminants and provide protection against corrosion. They are injection-moulded in bright yellow pigmented PE-LLD (linear low-density polyethylene). Two circumferential fins on the lower part of the sealing surface ensure a firm grip when inserted. An additional internal cross rib prevents the sides of the plug from yielding under pressure, thus ensuring optimum sealing effect during use. The textured surfaces of the sturdy, ergonomically optimized grip tabs permit easy removal after use.
The new GPN 360 Contact Protection Plugs are available in two geometrical shapes. Depending on the actual application, the covering part of the plug is either rounded at both ends or shaped rectangularly at one end. The standard plugs cover protection and sealing requirements for Type MLK 1.2 AK connectors with two to eight poles, Type SLK 2.8 VDA connectors with two to four poles, Type MAK 12 two-pole connectors and elongated holes of corresponding length and width. Special customized plugs can be supplied on request for elongated holes of non-standard dimensions or for higher-than-standard heat resistance.
Continually developed and manufactured by Pöppelmann in its own production facilities, the standard KAPSTO range comprises, besides the GPN 360 Contact Protection Plugs, over 3,000 different types and/or sizes of protective plastic caps and plugs, all of which are immediately available ex stock. Special versions, e.g. plugs combining sealing and assembling functions, can be designed and developed by Pöppelmann's own team of application engineers exactly in accordance with customer requirements.
