From the pencil to the spacemouse …

Today, the technical draughtsperson designs articles and tools principally on the computer.

The education is very varied. In our four construction departments, the mould trial section, and the mould construction department, you will learn everything that you need to know to create articles and moulds. This will help you better understand connections and contexts. It is important that you have good spatial awareness, are good at mathematics, and that you enjoy working with the newest construction programmes.

Personal requirements:

• Well-developed spatial awareness,
• technical understanding,
• ability to think logically,
• willingness to work hard,
• good concentration skills,
• good vision (work is at a computer screen),
• enjoy working with computers,
• flexibility in respect of new tasks and customers,
• good team player,
• good interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

• At a minimum, have completed secondary school with good results,
• good basic mathematics and geometrical skills,
• understanding of physical processes,
• good German and English.

Length of education

• 3.5 years
