The production of engineered, injection moulded plastic parts begins, based on a continuously expanding mould making department.

The main plant at the Bakumer Straße employs 590 workers and has expanded to its present size with 13 production and stock halls with a total area of 570,000 sq. feet.
On the 50th anniversary, the company has grown to about 800 employees.
Over 330 injection moulding machines and 12 vacuum forming lines process more than 18,000 tons of raw plastic annually into high quality products in the K-TECH, KAPSTO, TEKU and FAMAC divisions. With subsidiaries and sales offices in France, Spain, England, Denmark, Belgium and in the Netherlands, Pöppelmann is a leading processor of plastics with a strong presence in foreign countries in Europe.
The main plant in Lohne, Germany (Plant I) comprises 18 buildings with 775,015 sq.ft (72.000 m²) in total on 56.8 acres (230.000 m²) of land. The first manufacturing operation in the United States starts up in Claremont, North Carolina. Building: 53,820 sq.ft (5.000 m²); Property: 29.6 acres (120.000 m²). The Pöppelmann Group employs more than 1.300 people.
The number of employees grows to 1,500. Also, the 1,000th apprentice in the Pöppelmann history starts his apprenticeship program.
In the new plant 3 at Pöppelmannstraße in Lohne, Germany, the production of FAMAC products starts up. On a site of approximately 71,000 sq.m., the first two halls make up around 12,000 sq.m.
